We have an installation with multi tenant, while installing we had a few thoughts, so have a few questions below, but also some information, should you have the same thoughts.

Department Contacts

When creating a contact as system owner, there is no option to add it to a department. If we add this through the Department Administrator it seems to add it to personal contacts. How do we add department contacts.

Department Team

We have dumb users, like VM, forwarding etc, and the Department Administrator, it seems the “hide from contacts” does not do what we want, but we want a way to hide these, in the admin and not at user level with “Show Unregistered Extensions”, but there is no need for the users to see them.

Migrating

Is there any way to migrate customers from their own Tenant to a multi-tenant?

Office 365 Integration

Can this be setup for multiple customers?

Cross tenant Extensions

You cannot call across tenant.

Contact options

Setting this is per system, there does not seem to be a way to set these per Department.

Backups

Is there anyway to split department backups\restore?

Contacts in the multitenant are currently only available for personal contacts. Department contacts are not available in the multitenant

Forwarding rules can be disabled for the users n a per user basis

The admin would still be able to configure this for them, but not the user themselves

No.

No. Whoever requires this will have to go to a dedicated instance.

This is the point of a multitenant instance. To not call across departments. Think of this as different customers. They will need to go through their respective SIP Trunks to get the calls through.

Not available, see above in the 1st comment.

Backups

Is there anyway to split department backups\restore?
No. The backup is done by the admin of the entire system.

Thanks, Nicholas, are any of these features due to arrive?

With regard to the Department Team, I meant we have some dumb users who are not used by a person. For example, we have a customer with 2 users, one called "voicemails in hours" and another called "voicemails out of hours" so that they can have 2 different messages. These users don't want to be seen in the Team area of the app. In both the mobile app and web app, there is a setting that already stops the viewing of unregistered users. Is there an admin setting for this?

Just the contact book per department is slated for implementation (no ETA)
