Hi
We are doing some testing with Multicast Paging. We have purchased a Grandstream SIP Speaker and Fanvil PA2 unit to carry out a proof of concept. Both are on the supported list.
You can do a standard page to them, however multicast doesn't work properly. It's very hit and miss if they get the page, and when they do the sound quality is very poor and garbled.
We have discovered the issue appears to be with Hyper-V networking. If we do a multicast page from a standalone Windows PC to the devices on the same subnet it all works fine. However as soon as you try to do it from a VM on Hyper-V it doesn't work.
We have tried it on 2 different Hyper-V clusters we have. One runs 2016 and the other 2019 Server. Both have the same issue.
It's not just an issue with 3CX, we have tried some 3rd party multicast paging software to see if that is any different and we have the same issue.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues and if there are some settings we should be changing in Hyper-V?
Thanks
Tom
