I am working on testing out 3CX in our environment and one feature I wanted to use was multicast paging and I have that setup using a SNOM PA1+ and that works flawlessly. I did a quick survey of our users and a few of them like to have their deskphone announce the multicast pages in addition to our PA speakers due to their office location and closest PA speaker. Not a problem after seeing this post and following that example:

Well, sort of. When I use the phone I setup for listening to incoming multicast pages as the device producing the page I get a weird situation. I have the multicast page setup on a BLF Custom Speed Dial, I hit that and then it dials the set speed dial, no problem. It then puts myself on hold and plays the on hold music over the speakers I have plugged into the PA1+ device.

If I hit the SWAP soft key on the bottom of the phone I can then talk and it comes out of the PA1+ speakers. Apologies for the long winded description but wanted to give the backstory leading up to my question. Which setting on the Yealink Multicast SIP page do I need to adjust to allow someone with a phone listening to that multicast address not have to hit SWAP when performing a page?

This behaviour is expected when using multicast paging, as the phone initiating the page is also a member of the multicast paging group, causing it to receive the page.

To resolve this, you can remove the user's extension from the multicast paging group and re-provision the phone, ensuring that the multicast paging settings are also removed from the device. Alternatively, consider using a standard paging group.

I was messing around with settings in the Yealink phone:

Directory - Multicast IP - Multicast Listening

The Paging Barge settings was set to 31 by default which is:

Description:
1.It configures the priority of the voice call (a normal phone call rather than a multicast paging call) in progress.
1 is the highest priority, 31 is the lowest priority.

I disabled that and tried a test page. It let me page without placing myself on hold and needing to hit SWAP. I will keep testing other situations but this appears to have solved it.
