We are a global company looking at making the move to 3CX from our current Mitel system.

We are looking for a bit of advice as to which deployment route we should be going down. We will be looking at a hosted PBX but have queries in regards to locations we will be operating out of. The breakdown is as below:

- 100 in UK
- 15 in USA
- 5 in Canada
- 10 in UK that need to be dialling from USA, Canada, in the same ring groups etc.

What would be the pros/cons of going down a single PBX to run all locations as opposed to hosting an instance in each relevant region and having a link between the two. (Not sure how the latter works and whether possible)

Completely open to guidance on this. Also, not sure if i've posted in the right place?

Hi @alexwarbs

How many users are in total? If its one user per location then its possible to run everything out of one system.
If there are multiple users per location then you might to split them up depending on the number of users and location.
Also how many SIP trunks do you have?

I am sure there are a lot of partners here with a lot of experience in building systems like this that will be able to provide guidance.

Hi,

Sorry I should have stated, the breakdown above is users for each location - i.e. 100 users in the UK.

15 in USA is split across the east and west coast.

We have around 15-20 SIP trunks currently.

Then you would be fine on one instance and running SBCs or the softphone apps at each locations. This way, it's much easier to have ring groups going to different locations.

130 users can be easily managed on one system. You will just need to be extremely careful when creating your outbound rules due to the amount of trunks you have.
Do you have IP phones or planning to use softphones?

Our company is based in the USA, and we have offices in India, and I'm in France at the moment. It all works fine on a single instance. But obviously, your internet connections to each location is important to ensure good voice quality.

Where are you running your instance? AWS or a private server? Also, which location?
