So I found myself a trunk that suits my needs and allows me to make multiple outbound calls. However my question is would I be able to place those multiple outbound calls using the 3cx free pbx edition, and if positive can you please direct me to a manual so I would be able to set it via the API.

Hi Romano,

Yes this should be fine as the FREE and standards editions have now been combined (the FREE used to be 1 outbound trunk call only):

This has been the case a few months now - when did you install the system however ?

Haven't installed anything yet, still in research phase.
However in the
Call Center / Contact Center i see that
Ability to Use 3CX Clients API feature is not present for the free version, or at least not checked.

Does that mean that i wont be able to use the API to write a script to make scheduled calls?

If you are wanting 3CX for a call centre I definitely recommend the professional version for the features and functionality.

I would also look at the development partners also as the have created some fantastic Apps already geared at the call centre market:

No it's for personal use, I'm just wondering if I would be able to use the API on the free version?

PRO and Enterprise only although if you are just testing for personal use sign up as a 3CX partner and get an NFR key.

Thes give full features for trial purposes.

for how long and link please

As mentioned the call control API is not available in the free version so i would recommend using a commercial version for this. With the free version however you can have up to 16 simultaneous calls now. Also i would recommend using a supported provider that has been tested and approved by 3CX to avoid future issues. Supported providers do have templates included in the PBX with all settings pre-configured and ready to use out of the box.
