Hi,

So we have a few customers who require their outbound CLI to change depending on who they would like to call, they do not like the method of logging onto the management console to change their outbound CLI. I know on some of the other systems out there, you can add multiple accounts onto the Yealink phones - this is not possible with 3CX as I was told by their support team as I am unable to edit any settings as the permissions are locked.

Does anyone know what can be done please? Is there any special macro keys that can change SIP settings or?

Thanks

The permissions are not 'locked' but you risk the chance that a re-provision would blank the settings and it's not supported. It's also an administrative PITA. But in my experience any chances you make in the web interface outside of what 3CX changes isn't affected by 3CX provisioning. But otherwise your options are multiple trunks and outbound rules or 3rd party add-on like what @voiptoys makes for this.

Let's address your desire to have a dial code or something to change the extension's caller ID without browsing to a web page or the 3CX management console...

You absolutely could set up a BLF pointing to a CFD that prompts the caller to select a DID from a list. For "California" press 1, for "New York" press 2. Yuck. But you might find some variation on the theme that works for you. Once you know the desired DID to use, and you already know the extension that dialed the CFD... then it is just a matter of using the 3CX Call Control API to change the extension's CID property.

Alternatively, you could take a look at our 3CX Caller ID tool. Yes, it is a web page. It does have some nice features however. For example, you can name DIDs rather than having to memorize what city belongs to what DID. Or if you are calling in behalf of another company, you could give the DID the company name. This makes it far easier to select the desired DID. You can also assign different DIDs to different groups -- no point showing the team in the USA the DIDs intended for the UK team. It is centrally managed, and you can even use ad-hoc numbers if needed. I would suggest you have the web client open in one tab, and Caller ID open in another tab within the same browser. It's pretty simple.
