In Progress Multiple Phonebooks

Hi,

as discussed in the Boards (http://www.3cx.com/forums/post175146.html / http://www.3cx.de/topic/getrennte-firmen-telefonbucher/) - it would be nice to have multiple, seperated Phonebooks within 3CX. (V14)
Extension Group A got another Phonebook than Extension Group B, ...

Yep great idea!!
Because our locations are not all company owned it would be very nice to be able to give our franchisee's their own phonebook.

I am an end user evaluating whether to make the move to 3CX. Have been using a small Pro license for testing. Just met with a 3CX competitor a couple weeks ago and we asked them specifically about how they handled this. I say this just to emphasize the importance that things like this are to the end user.

I have a feeling this is falling on deaf ears as I reckon 3CX would see this as the possibility for multiple companies to use one large 3CX license, not the case with the majority of my installs. Medium to large companies require different phone books, Simple!

Come on 3CX!!!

Two weeks ago, I lost another client install because they did not want to use one massive phonebook. They have different departments in different cities and do not want them to have to dig through other departments just to find their own extensions.
This is lost revenue!!

Agreed, just got this request from a client today. They have multiple divisions and do not want to share contacts across the company, and also do not want to create individual phone books for each extension. Group phone books would be great!

we have few extension group, each representing one company and this feature is exact what we are missing.

We too have this need.
Phone books that work like groups.
VIPs can see everyone , general management can see VIPs and everyone, but the rest of the staff should no be able to ring VIPs directly. Using the Do not show extension in 3CX company phonebook, is not the solution.
Where do we vote for this wishlist?

That is not the solution. Group Phonebooks are much needed .

Maybe we can pitch in with an implementation?

Create a Phone book Group section (like groups)
Create phonebooks, select extensions to be shown in that phonebook.
Then on each extension settings option you can select the phonebook to be shown on that extensions hardware or software. If no particular phonebook is selected the global phonebook is shown.

Hi, just some of my thoughts about this:
- CEO's mobile number on every phone in the company?
- Only mobile numbers and name on hardphones in spite Exchange Adress Book sync?
- GDPR compliance?

It would be great if 3CX would integrate multiple phonebooks along with multiple details per entry
(at least "mobile" "office" "home" "first name" "last name" "company") which are then also converted to xml phonebooks for hardphones in a scheduled time cycle or after changes.
