I use Callcentric and have one SIP trunk up and running fine for a long time. Added a new sip trunk from callcentric from a separate account and when I try to route outbound calls over the 2nd trunk it gives me an authentication error in the log. I read in another post that some providers can't support multiple sip trunks from same IP. Could this be the same issue?

Ultimately it depends on whether you are registration based or IP based. Which trunk type is it and have you talked to Callcentric?

Multiple sip with same providers do work 100% i have 4 using account based, no need to mess around with sip ports either

Thanks. Did you have to do anything at all differently in the trunk config? I am account based also and using two accounts. One is my personal account (works fine) and the other is a partner who needs me to let him use my PBX to route his calls for a while. Both are Callcentric accounts.

Hi @ajohnson443 no nothing at all, no special configs or anything, just simply added them using port 5060 for all of them.

Make sure you have the latest update on your PBX - V16 Update 4

Make sure both trunks are correctly configured (DID and credentials)

Modify your main outbound rule route to use the 2nd trunks and retest

Could it be SIP provider security mecanism protecting against another Public IP registration?

Callcentric has this as a security measure, but the trunk would not register at all if this was enabled on their portal

Thanks for the input. I finally heard back from callcentric and after looking at some screenshots they had me make the following changes.. It worked. Still not sure why one trunk works without this and one needs it but hey.. I'll take it :)

If yours was not like this then you were not using our template, or perhaps you clicked the CenturyLink template by mistake when you were creating the trunk (its just below the Callcentric one and has a different value).

If you want to be 100% certain, make sure your templates are updated and re create the trunk from scratch just in case there are other parameters that are also different and may cause you future issues when the time comes

Funny thing is that I did use the template for all of them. I will follow-up on this and make sure they are set right. Thanks!

Update: My original trunks are exactly the way they should be.. I have no idea how that setting was different on the new trunk.. I "know" I used the template.....:rolleyes:
