Hello everyone,

I've customized a CFD from this post https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/cfd-v16-phone-based-call-forwarding.83409/ to make it work on a Linux 3CX environment.
The objective of this script is to allow each user via this CFD to forward calls, internally or externally.

This works for internal calls, example:
An internal call to another extension which has activated its call forwarding, the call will be sent to the mobile number

Unfortunately, a call from outside to an extension that has call forwarding enabled doesn't work --> When the extension with call forwarding is activated and is part of a call queue or a ring group.

The call is instantly terminated.

A user dial 2222, he is asked to activate or deactivate forwarding, and type the number to which to forward :

Then for each user, I have to put the CFD 2223 as the destination number for external and internal calls :

Then I went to activity log and I saw this :

"Which is NOT actually an external number. Forwarding ignored."

I've tried to send calls to an IVR 2224 which send to CFD 2223, but I think it breaks something in the script and it's not working too, I think that my provider don't accept a call forwarding like that ?

I would be very grateful if someone can help me on this issue, it is a big need for my customer ! :-)

But why is the CFD handling forwarding? Extensions themselves can do that.

Also, check Settings > General > Allow forwarding to external number in RG/Q.

The "Allow forwarding to external number in RG/Q" is already ticked.

I use a CFD to handle forwarding because they want a feature that their old Alcatel system had : set up call forwarding and set the number manually directly from the phone...

Can't they use the Webclient/Desktop where they literally have a UI instead? Using a CFD for this is tricky but you should be able to use parameters and DN config to set those. No need for complex stuff.

I would love for them to agree to use the webclient, but unfortunately it is not an option for them.

I'm thinking of giving up because I can't find a solution.
Thanks anyway for your help..

Why isn't it an option to them? Why use a modern system if they don't use the modern features?

Also, make sure you got outbound rules that fit the number you're forwarding to, otherwise CFD can't route it. It's important that the rules have at least one not filtered on ext/group, since CFD doesn't have a real "group" or "extension" to be filtered upon.

Thanks!

I totally agree with you, however I am not a decision maker.

Finally it works, it was just necessary that the extensions are not in a call group or a queue.

I was trying to do call forwarding from phones in groups but it obviously didn't work.
