Solved Need help with Voice Mail

I have a client that has the following conditions.

When a call comes in and they are on the phone they would like to caller to get a busy signal.
At non specific times, (when they go for a break, lunch or at the end of their day) they want calls to go to their voice mail.

Any ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.

On the versions I've used, busy signal is not an option. If the extension is busy you can send the call somewhere, or choose to end it.To send a call somewhere automatically, you'd have to employ the extensions office hours.

So... you have to send the call, to something that plays (where you've recorded) a busy signal, such as a voicemail box , digital receptionist or even an outside number that you know, is always busy.

Please navigate under extension settings / Forwarding rules and under the option "If i am busy or my phone is un-registered, forward calls to" set it to "End call"


Make sure that the option "Accept multiple calls" is disabled. Click OK to apply the changes.

Now when the extension is busy the caller will hear a busy tone.


For calls to be forwarded to voicmail you can use any of the status options to forward calls anywhere you like.
