Radix,

3Cx Voip Client V7 has working extension panel and TAPI. Thats what you can use right now...

The new voip phone can connect without problems to the server over the tunnel on a windows vista 64bit machine. but i am not able to establish a connection via tunnel with the voip client v7.

what is missing is G729... maybe it is time for 3cx to include g729 since the patton and linksys and many other providers does not support GSM.

I like the look of the new client.

So is there not going to be a way to drive the desk phone with this version of the client, and if not does that mean if we are using laptops and moving around the office we will have to have more than one application loaded or get our users to remember to unload one application and then load another when they move.

Do you have any test plans or scenarios that you would like us to try for you?

Thanks for the nice feedback. THe ability to launch an executable with caller ID is already in the voip client. This functionality will be part of the operator panel or phone system dashboard we are launching soon, but not part of the voip phone.

In-Office conected, no issues

Out-of-Office connected(no tunnel method), no issues.

Tunnel will not connect. I have ports 5060-5090UDP and 5060-5090TCP forwarded to the 3CX server, I am doing it from a local network(may be a problem, though I don't know).

Are you running on Vista? Try disabling UAC - OR - Run the client under "Administrator" privelages (under start menu, right click on 3CX VoIP Client and select "Run as Administrator"). That is the only way I have gotten Tunnel to work on Vista...period.

Try out our new softphone - engineered to be as compact as possible, to be fast and easy to use. It has a new look and feel and is very light weight.

It has an integrated tunnel, no service required, and is much easier to configure and run.
Also new is a debug window, which shows detailed status and is very helpful in troubleshooting external extensions.

We recommend anyone having problems setting up external extensions to try this phone and use the tunnel to connect.

Download 3CX VoIP Phone 3 BETA from here:
http://www.3cx.com/downloads/3CXVoIPPhone3.msi

It is nicely working. The normal client will not work in tunnel mode, but this one is working correctly. I am interested if there will be call queue support in the near future?

A new version of the 3CX Voip Phone has been released yesterday, please check it out:

Cool 8)
So, where the problem was, in the PBX's tunnel ini, or in the phone client's tunnel ini?

in the PBX tunnel ini

Hi, I have been trying out version 3..
I may have discovered a bug or it may just be me..

I was helping one client this morning and then got a second call, I clicked on line 2.
The first caller was able to hear and talk and he listened in while the second caller was whining about something.. The old man on the fist call thought we were talking to him.. LOL
Anyway, isn't it supposed to put the first call on hold before it picks up the second call?

Hi, DeWild

Any bug found means one bug less (in the next release)
The issue happened when clicking the "line 2" button, or the OK button while line 2 rings?

Thanks
vali

P.S Yes, you're right, the active line should be placed on hold when answering a ringing one.

I think it was when I just clicked on Line2 on the main control, not the one down by the clock.
I posted elsewhere about this, but a personal history that stays for at least a day, (A month would be better), would be cool, as well as Extensions and Speed dial.

Hi again, DeWild

About this issue:
this was a bug, able to be reproduced on a regular basis, on the first two releases of the Voip Phone, and in our evidence it appear as fixed since January 12. Therefore, the latest - RC - version it supposed to don't have this issue. Yesterday evening I've tested scenario you described all-on-one-machine (PBX + 2 in development 3CX Voip Phones) and I was not able to reproduce the issue you describe. Now I've tested again using a Grandstream, the RC VoipPhone and a remote PBX - again I was not able to reproduce it. When saying "tested" I mean around 50 calls, to/from voipphone, to/to voip phone, voipphone in tray/normal, first call active/on hold, clicks on ok/line. Therefore, if this issue will continue to happen on your phone - on a regular basis (that means can be reproduced based on a scenario) or quite often, then I will ask you for further information - such as if voipphone is in queue/ring and second call is incoming to these, or was a paging call, and for some logs. I repeat, this issue should not happen in the final release of the voip phone.

Regards
vali

P.S Something got my attention - in the second post, you said "I just clicked on Line2 on the main control, not the one down by the clock". The RC has the answering popup feature disabled at this moment, being in development - please check your phone version to see if you don't use the oldest alfa.

Na, I was just not sure if it did not have that feature and I was confused with the regular version7... I do not run both at the same time, but I do not use the phone much and when I do, I need the extensions. 3.0.5407.0 is what I was using. But I did not uninstall first.. I will uninstall, then install again.
Sound like I was using an old version, sorry to waste your time.

I love the skins and the way the numbers are set up. Futuristic - Cool looking 8)

hmmm, it's the same version, so maybe I was on crack or something and had both old softphone and beta open at same time.. Crack has been known to cause brain damage ya know...

You don't waste my time at all, in fact it was very useful experience:

- for our technical support KB, to know that in case if somebody will wonder why the first call is not put on hold when another call is incoming, to ask if the second call is not incoming on another softphone (to be honest, during tests I never thought at such kind of issue  )

- then, during these tests, trying to get the same issue as yours, I've found a small bug - not important one at the first glance, but quite useful to check if it doesn't hide something serious behind. That kind of weird-scenario bug, you know in some movies "What's this? What have you done, which button did you pushed?"

Cheers
vali

The phone doesn't work on Vista 64 Bit

1) install phone
2) configure conection settings
3) File/Exit or Reboot
4) Run phone by clicking 3CX Voip Phone from start menu
5) phone launches in minimized mode displayed down in windows task bar
6) click on the phone in Windows task bar to restore the window. Poof...the phone/window disappears...

I reported this to you a long time ago, but obviously you've done nothing about it.

Hi, Brian

Brian, I'm quite confused

"Run phone by clicking 3CX Voip Phone from start menu phone launches in minimized mode displayed down in windows task bar"

You may specify which version of the phone you use? Because what you described here is not - or should not be - the behavior of the Voip Phone: Voip Phone starts hidden in the tray ONLY when is set to start at Windows logon otherwise it starts normal, visible and windowed.

Thanks
vali
