No dial tone when a line is open

On the Windows client, we don't get a dial tone when we open the line. On the Mac client, dial tone works each time.
Any ideas?

Is this really needed? The Open Line feature doesn't really do anything in VoIP. The call does not start when you begin dialing or take the phone off hook. It starts when you hit SEND. All instructions are then sent to the Server for processing.
This fake dial tone does nothing on the Mac.

Craig thanks for the clarification. We just needed to confirm if this was a bug or an error on our end.

It is possible it is a bug - but as long as the device is making outbound calls and receiving them, I would call it a-ok!

Craig is right - the dialtone (together with touchtones, busy tone and even ringtone) is just a simple audio feedback to the user. Part of the call are the ringback and in-band DTMFs.
