When I tested V20 a few months ago, there was an option for adding a Generic SIP trunk which was good news as we have worked with a SIP provider that is no longer supported by 3CX and we wish to continue to use them. I have now setup 2 hosted Business licenses for new clients but I am unable to setup the SIP trunks so cannot proceed with the installs.
I've tried to import a template file for this provider that was exported from V18 but it will not import as the 3CX install does not already contain the template file.
I've tried setting up one of these systems on V18, import the original template file that has worked on this version, upgraded to V20 and exported the trunk - V20 still failed to import as the template file did not exist.
Reading other posts, it appears that the Generic SIP trunk option is available in V20 on-prem installs but it is not in the country list in the hosted version, even after updating to the latest Update 1 BETA version.
Yes, I know that using an un-supported SIP trunk will not be supported by 3CX but I am sure that there are hundreds or thousands of 3CX installs that currently do not use supported providers for various reasons - we are one of them. This will also cause issues when upgrading any 3CX hosted systems to V20 as if the provider is not supported, then there will be no template file for this and it will be impossible to make any changes to the trunk configuration as the fields will not display resulting in a blank page.
3CX - do you have plans to restore the Generic SIP trunk option very soon - I dont want to have to recommend to our clients that we have to move them from 3CX?
