Hello,

In my 3CX I have a inbound rule to forward to an outside number (red) for calls to a certain number in my 3CX (green). But, when I call said number from fixed line, I hear a ringtone for the short time up until the 3CX actually forwards to the outside number (red). From there on, the external phone (red) rings, but the caller cannot hear a ringtone until the callee (red) hangs up or answers the phone. Everything else works fine, both can speak with each other after the phone is answered, it's just that the caller doesn't hear a ringtone while the forwarded phone (red) rings.
Strange enough, if the caller calls from mobile, no ringtone at all can be heard. But it doesnt matter if the forwarded outside number (red) is fixed line or mobile.

We use an unsupported SIP Provider in Germany, called Telekom Voice Data S and added every single Phonenumber as a single trunk. We tried anonymous register as well as authenticated register via email and password, but it didn't change anything.
Lastly we tried to change the outbound parameter settings according to (german source) https://service.swyx.net/hc/de/arti...ider-Deutsche-Telekom-VoiceData-Anschluss-DE- but that didn't help either.
We even captured traffic on our 3CX:

Red marks the outside mobile number, green the number of the PBX that should forward to the outside number.
Between both screenshots is only RTP traffic with the exact same payload, only interrupted of SDP pakets like paket #53 (183 Session Progress).
I let the phone ring for approx 10 secs, for those seconds the rtp stream continued until I hung up on the caller phone.

We assume, that there has to be something like a flag or a setting, that tells the telekom sip-provider to correctly forward the ringtone to the right number. But actually we don't know because voice is transferred when answered.
Anybody same issues like us?

You show two captures, but only the first shows a 180 RINGING message. Were both from calls that did not have ring-back tone?

Oh, my apologies I forgot to mention, that both captures are the same call. First one shows the call to the pbx number (green) and how the pbx calls the outside number (red).
Second one shows what happened after the caller hung up and therefore the pbx terminates the request to (red) and the call to itself (green).

I wanted to show that while the outside phone is ringing, nothing else than the rtp stream and those sip/sdp pakets are on the wire.

I don't know if communication is expected to happen directly between caller and outside phone and therefore the pbx should not be able to see their communication.

Have you done a comparison , to a the log of a "normal" outside call, that (I assume), does have ring-back tone?

Haven't had the chance to do so.

Since there is a 183, 3CX will not generate a progress tone and you won't hear anything.

You should also see if the 183 contains SDP, because the provider should be sending you the progress tone in this case.
