Hey All,

So I've been doing some digging and looking into the lovely (sarcasm) calls we have been getting, as they seem to have come back with a vengence after implementing a bunch of methods to prevent sip scanners. We were good for about two days, and now we seem to have doubled the number of calls and voicemails we are receiving. Looking into the numbers that are calling us (they are "legit") I am 99% sure we are being spammed by robo callers. I was reading up the last few days re this issue and i ran into nomorobo however I can not seem to find 3CX listed on their site, so i am unable to download it and attempt to deploy it on our server. Is this no longer supported or am i missing something? additionally if this is not a supported software is there an alternative that can be implemented into my 3CX installation.

First time I can recall seeing that name (nomorobo) , let alone anything about it, on this site.

obviously not the only one having issues like this lol.

But if you look here an employee says 3CX uses nomorobo. I mean a simple search brought up the discussion.

Thanks

Uncle Ward Mundy to the rescue! Follow this link http://nerdvittles.com/?p=29733 for a skytel signup link that gives you 50% off up to a certain amount of money down. They have a built in anti spam feature, but, alas, they do charge more for it than regular sip accounts. I cant testify as to the effectiveness of the service as I am just now getting time to try a few tests on 3cx/asterisk, but but in the past Ward has been spot on. Skytel also provides some pretty neat looking endpoint monitoring features. I would also recommend reading up on his latest article that outlines the use of the http://voipbl.org/ black lists for an excellent extra layer of security. Excellent security is what first attracted to the incredible pbx distro. But Im a 3cx fanboy now, and a nerd vittles disciple forever.

It's not a 3CX employee, and they don't say that 3CX uses it. They are speaking as a provider, that offers the service.

Correct, we are not 3CX employees, just 3CX partners that have 3CX certified SIP trunking. We offer Nomorobo on our SIP trunks as an add-on.
