Greetings all,
There was a law that passed a little while ago, requesting that in building offices, 911 shall be reachable without limitation, and without trunk seizure prefix.
I read the documentation about 911 and understand how to set it up in the PBX so it can be dialed out without prefix.
I have the following question regarding this scenario though:
- Multiple 800 incoming numbers
- About 20 agents working from home
- When an agent calls out, the main number shall be displayed
- If an agent needed to dial 911 from their soft phone, how would we in this case only display their cell phone number as a caller ID instead of the main number, knowing that there is no sub account available with our carrier.
I was able to go in the trunk outbound parameters, and switch the From: User Part to OriginatorCallerID.
When doing this, I can go to the previous screen, and use a CallerID Outboud rule with (.*) = xxxxx
But when I change the (.*) to (100) for extension 100, then the Default caller ID shows up.
If this works (catch-all .*) , I'd assume that I should put my extension in there instead, but apparently no.
Is the Outbound Source Pattern of an extension calling, its own extension number?
I'm not looking for an answer like "tell agents to use their cell phones" or "change carrier".
I'm looking for a solution -if it exists- in this particular scenario, where if 911 is dialed, then outgoing caller ID becomes user cell phone.
Thank you all.
