one way audio - no really !

I recommend you use a supported provider and get your firewall setup with STATIC port forwarding. All the problems you are having are due to network configuration and possibly VoIP provider interoperability. You would also benefit from a tech support package.

One way audio is generally due to STUN issues.

- Make sure that the 3cx box has STUN activated and that the ATA/IP phones don't.
- Make sure your ATA/IP phones are forced and capable of re-invites.

Thanks Nick and wzaatar for your replies. It's all up and running now - basically problem with the voip provider. I had already set up the STUN, static port forwarding, passed the firewall test, etc. The wireshark showed all packets doing the right kind of thing, but just the audio not being accepted on the provider end.

I understand it's a commercial product and ideally I would have a support package and paid version, but I am an individual enthusiast rather than a serious business with mutliple phone needs. I am very grateful that you make available the free version and am happy to try to pick my way through it with the goodwil and help of the members of this forum. I don't expect anything as I'm getting it free and so am very happy for all the advice I do get.

Wish you all the best with the business.

Just to comment, VoIPtalk have also been having some problems with delay on their network for a couple of days now...makes for an interesting conversation :)

Hi there

Please make a wireshark capture from the PBX machine, make a call that exhibits this issue (including the disconnect after x seconds), and attach it here.

I'll try to have a look at it and give some pointers.

Regards

Kevin

OOPS: below relates to the other post I made with heading "wireshark equivalent for ADSL router" - the problem with voiptalk is no longer occurring and was I think due to a problem at their end. This issue with 30 sec disconnect due to no ACK is still puzzling me though if you do have time to look !

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for that !

This is one where the disconnect occurs http://www.domandsarah.co.uk/ext to int disconnects.pcap as no ACK is received to the final 200 OK.

This is the same call made after setting 3cx to use port 5061 instead of 5060 and now the ACK is received and no disconnect occurs.
http://www.domandsarah.co.uk/ext in int ok on port 5061.pcap

regards,
Dominic.

Hi there

Looking at the capture, it seems that the firewall on 93.96.36.31 might be forwarding port 5060 somewhere else - or possibly your ISP being naughty and blocking some packets.

Kevin
