Hi,

Started a thread in the Android forum but haven't had any luck and not a great response so posting the problem here. Given that I've narrowed the problem to the 3CX PBX rather than the smart phone client I think it's relevant to post it here now. Hopefully I'll get some answers.

Hi,

Having a problem with a customer using their android app where they can hear the caller crystal clear but the caller can't hear a thing. Customer complaining their mic isn't working with the app but I'd be more inclined to think it was a one way audio issue. This isn't particular to a specific network either, happens on various networks, wifi, 3g/4g etc.

Any ideas?

It's a new client who's just installed the app so it's not worked up to this point ever. Restarted the 3cx services but still the same. Possibly worth reinstalling the app?
Same here....

i can hear, no problem. it works fine on my windows 10 app.

Update: Tried re installing the app, same problem. Tried on a different phone, same problem. So that rules out the phones and points the finger at 3CX. What am I missing?

No reply from 3CX??

Come on guys....

Seeing as I've narrowed it down to an issue with the PBX rather than the app, I was going to start another thread in the main forum to see if it got better coverage. Can a moderator advise if this ok, or indeed move the thread.

There's been very little activity on this!

We just tried with Android app, and it's working fine.
Either your android app does not have all the permissions.
Either you have a firewall issue somewhere (most likely for one way audio)

Hi Scott,

Do the webclient and deskphones work ok? If so then proceed below:

Firstly I would suggest to call internal extensions or call *888 to get a callback test and see if there is voice between your android device and PBX.

Next I would check to see if the issue is when you are in the office (if the PBX is a local installation on the same network as the WiFi) or if it occurs both in and out of the office.

Then i would check the tunnel mode and try using the phone over the tunnel which can help minimize these issues (depending on what the original cause was).

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes and be prepared to take a capture if all else fails. The capture will tell you if any audio was transmitted, and to which IPs.
