All,
New install on version v16 for windows. On prem install. Firewall checker with full cone comes back all good. Windows clients and web clients working with no issues. Initial testing of 1 local desk phone worked. but now with multiple local phones, all are not able to talk(or do touch tones). I have tried the option "PBX Delivers Audio" on server and phones but it still doesn't work. My local desk phones are acting like they need a SBC. Moving 1 desk phone to a different fw/lan makes that phone work. During the install I answered the question "Do you want to address your phones using a local ip or an fqdn?" with fqdn. Could this be causing my issues? How do I change my server to work with local desk phones?
thanks for any help you can provide!

the fact that you get no audio on your local phones and PBX is not normal. Local is local and should work.

If you provision the phone using IP instead of FQDN, does it work?
UI of the phone shows server host as local ip already. Should I be looking elsewhere as well?

Then, I believe you have a network issue. I would check the firewall configuration.

If you're not knowledgeable about network, consider hiring someone to help because those issues can take a lot of your time and sometime be as stupid as a checkbox in the router. I've seen that before.

I am very knowledgeable with networking and don't believe that this is networking issue as a local phone connected to the local 3cx server on the same switch can not record a vmail. External softphones work perfectly so I am thinking that my server is misconfigured for internal phones. I just tried a desk phone from a different network connecting to the public ip and it works.

Just to update all on the resolution, the issue of no audio between desk phones was fixed by resetting the codecs for phones and for the server under settings->general-> Codec Priority for Local/Internal Calls

I didn't put down phone types/fw because it wasn't a phone/fw issue. We have polycom, grandstream and many different models of Yealink, running on many different fw versions. All were effected and all are working now after codec for desk phones and server we reset to their default state.
