Using flowroute and trying to figure out why or how to get the CNAME to show on the caller ID.

For extension on the outbound caller ID I have the number 1112223333 set for example. When calling my cell phone I see incoming call from 1112223333 but I do not see the CNAME or company name shown, only the phone number.

Now I have CNAME's setup correctly on the flowroute, but it might take 5-7 days for the CNAME to be populated across providers perhaps?

Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks in advance.

Call display name can get a bit tricky, depending a lot on what your provider supports. In some cases, you can send a name, that will be passed on to the called party. In many (most) cases if a name is present, then this will prevent any other name being added, or substituted, along the way. Some providers allow you to specify a name, which they will add.

If a name does not originate with the PBX (or your provider), then one can be added, usually by the terminating provider, by doing a "DIP" into a database. Database results vary greatly. This could result in your company name, if available, or something more generic, such as a state, province or region being sent.

I see a lot of Flowroute mentioned. Perhaps you should talk to them since they are the ones that are controlling everything? They would also be the ones to tell you what you need to send to them. A quick Google search found this:

In their help center there are several articles on this topic:

Thank you so much! Yes, I spoke with them yesterday as well and CNAME is going to get activated propagated within 5-7 days. Pretty much we are all set right now using the outgoing rules with the phone numbers provided for all outgoing calls which have been assigned with CNAME over on Flowroutes end.

Thanks again guys!
