Hello everyone,
I have a web-hosted 3cx PBX and Grandstream HT813 ATA on premice, I have set up a SIP account for the ATA and inbound calls come in fine. BUT outbound calls are not working, I have tried many forms and types I'm either getting "this number doesn't exist, contact admin, or complete silence".
I had FreePBX earlier and we used to press 9 to get the PSTN line and we can't do this anymore with 3cx. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

I'm working with a PSTN line and an ATA not VoIP, and I'm a newbie with almost no programming skills.
Thank you in advance guys.

OH and this is what I get from the logs
Call or Registration to 0543122690@(Ln.10001@HT813) has failed. 0.0.0.0 replied: 503 No DNS results; warning: No other DNS entries to try (0,0); internal
and with a different setup I got this :
Call or Registration to 0569197647@(Ln.10000@outbound test) has failed. 0.0.0.0 replied: 408 Request Timeout; internal

Thank you for your help, unfortunately in my area, we don't have a VoIP sip provider the telephone company depends on PSTN landlines. therefore we can only use ATAs.

As @VasilisV_3CX already mentioned, we recommend using one of the 3CX supported FXO gateways for ensured compatibility and functionality: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/

However, do note that one of the requirements for keeping the mentioned FXO gateways supported with 3CX is to have them setup on the same LAN as the 3CX PBX. Since the 3CX Instance at hand is a hosted instance, you must utilize a site-to-site VPN in order to satisfy this requirement.

If you must use the one you already have, we can only recommend that you consult the vendors documentation for instructions on how to configure it, but again we cannot guarantee that it will function properly or that it will function at all with 3CX.

Hello @Abdallah,

I am using Grandstream HT813 for almost a year with PSTN landline but with local machine-not cloud.
It is working quite well.
The thing is, it might need a lot of resets to allow you to apply new settings from scratch...

Please, check this post - this one worked for me:

Hope it helps you too.

There have been a number of posts on the topic of getting an FXO gateway working with a hosted 3CX install. There are reports that some have managed to get it to work, using certain models (you'd have to search the forum). I also seem to recall people trying to use a gateway behind an SBC. None of this is supported.

The problem with an FXS gateway, is that in 3CX (trunk settings), you specify where to send outgoing calls, the IP of the gateway (usually a local IP), you don't rely on the gateway telling 3CX where it is located, as happens with an ATA (a gateway does register, but 3CX does not use that info to send calls to it).

This is complicated by the gateway being behind a remote router (in most cases). While incoming calls are not usually an issue, outgoing, is the "tricky part".

You might consider hosting 3CX locally, if using a PSTN trunk is a must. The Raspberry Pi is an inexpensive option.

Some devices, containing an FXS and FXO do allow, the phone attached to the device, to call out over the PSTN line, rather than sending the call to 3CX, then back again. This can, depending on the device, be based on digits dialled (programmed in the device). Of course, that is only for that one phone, and will still not allow any other extension to place outgoing calls.

Thank you for your help, I have a Regular Analog phone which I hooked on the FXS port and I only need to dial 9 to get an outside dial tone, but I need to do this on my softphone since we are working remotely. there are only two of us. the guys from 3cx said 3cx doesn't support it. but I'm keeping my hopes up.
