Outbound PIN number to dial?

Hi

I finally have a 3CX system working with Grandstream equipment. I want to be able to restrict people phoning out and only allow people with a PIN number to be able to dial out. How do I set something like that up? I can not seem to find anything on it.

There is no way at the moment to restrict a user from dialing out based on the input and authentication of a PIN number.

However there are other things you can do.

There is a setting in the extension options where you can disable a user from making external calls.

This can also be done using the HTTP API functions.

Also you can create an outbound rule, 3 digits for example which you give to the users that are allowed to call out. These 3 digits will be the prefix of the outbound rule. To go a step further you can also input the extension numbers in the "Calls From Extensions" field so that only those extensions listed are allowed to make use of this particular outbound rule.
