Good morning all,

I have seen there are multiple posts for this same issue, but I cannot find and answer relevant to me issues.

I have an issue with outgoing call volume. Everyone we call from any extension externally says we are very quiet. Internal calls are just fine, its just the outgoing calls.

I am running 2 sip trunks (provided by hostcomm) and 1 x BT Telephone line that connects to 3CX via a Grandstream GXW410X gateway. I have a mixture of Snom and Yealink desk phones all connected to the 3CX server here.

Id really appreciate any help/advice on increasing the outgoing call volume for our system. Incoming is fine, its just outgoing that appears to be the issue.

Many thanks in advance.

Neil

Hi Neil,

If internal calls are all ok for you and only external calls generate complaints, the I think you will need to look at everything after 3CX. That would be your SIP trunks and provider. The voice is delivered to the provider from your system, but what happens after that is beyond the control of 3CX

Thanks John, ill call them

You're welcome. If you need to prove your 3CX is ok, you can run a capture from the Activity Log page, make a call to capture some audio, and then use this capture as evidence that you're sending the audio correctly.

Can you say that in English! hahaha :) I have no idea how to do this! :)

We have a guide here https://www.3cx.com/docs/capture-network-traffic/

It's not necessary, but you can use it in case it comes down to you proving your point.

If you learn some basics on WireShark you can also analyze your own traffic whenever you need to troubleshoot or you can hire one of our many partners to help you out in case you don't have the time to get into the more deep technical aspects of troubleshooting network traffic

Yes you are right, the SIP providers have already told me it cant be there end. Let me get some capture done. Thank you

Look up how to do RTP Stream Analysis (playback basically) in WireShark.

Make sure ( by looking at the source and destination IPs ) that you are listening to the voice leaving from your IP and heading towards the provider's IP.

It should have relatively good volume, especially if you compare it to the opposite stream (the audio coming in from the provider - a.k.a. the voice of the person you called)

Capture attached.

Hi Neil,

Please be very careful with what you post in a public form. Wireshark captures contain sensitive data about your network and should not be publicly shared.
I did try to convert it back to a capture file, however wireshark said the file is corrupted. Create a new capture and share it with me in a p.m. if you'd like
