Phone Template Changes

My client wants DND disabled on all his phones. This is a simple setting in the configration of his phones (Grandstream) however it requires a change of a 0 to 1 in the phone template. It appears I cannot do that any longer in their hosted version(18.9.31). If I manually make the change to each of the 23 phones, they will just revert the next time they are provisioned.

Any Suggestions?

You could remove the provision path on the phone when you make the change. That will prevent it from updating back to enabled.

Or you could move them to be hosted elsewhere and then to a custom template.

None of these are officially supported.

So, to get back the flexibility of custom templates, I have to lose the functionality of built in provisioning. I've been working with 3CX for 13 years now and every time they roll out and upgrade, we lose some functionality. I only went to hosting because they made such a big deal about it. If I had realized that it comes with a more limited set of services, I never would have gone there. I may just have to eat the money I spent on hosting and move back to Digital Ocean or AWS.

I'd love to hear from 3CX if they have a work around (or a rational) for not allowing custom templates.

We are working to allow custom templates in hosting.

But also soon you will be able to easily deploy to AWS / AZURE / Google so you can choose hosting or hosted by Google we will be indifferent what you prefer.
