Hi all, we're running v16 update 5. I've noticed that I've deleted extensions over the last few months and saw that they're still in the phonebook. We're running Grandstream phones. I see that the phonebook.xml and gs_phonebook.xml haven't updated since 6/13/2020, which is the last time the server was restarted. Anyone have any idea what could be happening? I'm hoping I don't have to to restart the server just for the update. Thanks

Ok thanks, here is the info

3CX Version - 16.0.5.612
Server OS - Windows Server 2019
Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Hosted on-premise
IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware - Grandstream GXP1625, firmware 1.0.4.132
Provisioning Method: Local
Trunk Provider - SIP.US
Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

Do you have a large phonebook?
is the phone provisionned properly ?
Hardware ressouces on this model are not strong so may be it is slow to update or file is too big for hardware.

I would start with a factory reset, and then reprovisioning of the phone.

Then see if the phonebook get populated (or if provisioning fails as a whole)

You will have to provision them via plug and play to ensure that this works (it will show if it can communicate with the server correctly)

Hi all, it's not a large phonebook, we have around 100 extensions. The file is 21kb. The phones are properly provisioned. We also have a yealink T58 phone and the phonebook is not updated on that as well.

What I'm noticing is that the phonebook.xml file itself has a modified date of 6/21/2020, so I'm thinking the problem is not that the phones are not being updated, but that the phonebook itself is not being updated. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

where did you saw this on phones or PBX ?
if you add a contact in 3CX console do you see it added after in console ?

can you push latest update .641 if not done, previously you said PBX was .612

Like you said also it seems to be all phones who are affected then is your LAN letting a free access to provisioning ? is multicast free to go on your LAN
Do you use Vlans
QOS?
What kind of Swtich ? POE ?

We are having some audio issues with external calls using the web client (Chrome) so I am going to go right to .655 tonight. Hopefully that will fix everything. But also to answer your questions:

LAN is letting free access to provisioning, we are not using VLANs. It's pretty much a wide-open network. We are not using QOS for a majority of the phones, they are plugged into a Dell 6248 3-stack switch, with the original firmware (I know I need to update it). About 10 phones are plugged into a 6248 with updated firmware and auto-voip turned on, those phones have the same problems. There is no POE. Thanks!

V16.0.6.641 is latest stable, don't use a beta in production. if you found .655 beta release don't use it for now

Ok, even though we're seeing issues with audio from external calls on the webclient once Chrome updated? Thanks for the heads-up!

Sorry you can use .655 this is a release not a beta so it's good to use in production and seems to fix some recent problems

Ok, thanks for clarifying!

Well, that didn't work. I updated to .655 and restarted the server, and the phonebook is still not updated. I even opened the phonebook.xml file directly on the server and it's not updated. So now I'm thinking it's not a problem reaching the phones, but that the file itself it not updating. It also shows it was modified with yesterdays date, but still no good. Thanks

do you use automatic restore ?
When you go in console and add a contact is this contact saved when you refresh

Not sure what automatic restore is? I did do a manual backup and used that to upgrade the system. I added a contact and I don't see that either. I set the activity log to verbose and didn't see anything in there as well. Not seeing any files under "C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning\" updating at all since yesterday's upgrade. Thanks

that's this i'm talking about

No, I have automatic backups scheduled, but not automatic restores. Thanks

in console adding a new contact is not kept by pbx ?
