Solved PnP Provisioning on LAN

I have a 3CX on LAN and the support IP phone is on the same network.

I pre assigned phones to EXTs before the phones were delivered.

they've been taken to site and are showing as bold in the phone list but are not provisioning.

Are they supposed to autoprovison if prepopulated or do I have to assign them to the extensions?

The phones will not know how to provision themselves , if they do not have any provisioning url in the phone web gui.

You need to setup dhcp option 66, so that the phones can retrieve their config from the 3CX server

Thanks for the reply, I had set up Option 66 in the interim and this acheives what I expected.

Just so I can understand better, without Option 66 and using PnP

Correct

You would see a NOTIFY message going to the phone giving it its provisioning URL.

This only happens when you assign it from the Phones page, at no other stage.

You can of course re-assign it once it appears as bold ( to the same extension of course ) and the NOTIFY will be sent out at that moment.
