Polycom 331 ring tone volume low

Hi All,

Hope someone can help me here, please, pulling my hair out.

Have a remote customer (400km round trip from me) complaining the ring volume is low on the Polycom 331 phones.

Apparently, they adjust the ring volume on the phone, but this setting does not stay, after a while / restart of phone, these settings goes back to "default", i.e. low ring volume so my assumption is that it reprovisions and then lose the setting set by user.

All I can find is to change the ringtone to "Loudringer.wav" file, but that is not what I want, just want to increase the ring volume and since it can be set via the phone itself, I would assume it should be able via a config file also?

Is there anything in the phone template I can set / change / add to configure the ring volume of these devices?

Any advice will be appreciated.

3CX system is 16.0.6.655
Phone model firmware is 4.0.10.0689 and 4.1.1.0934

Absolutely. It's called custom templates, and is not supported, but can be done:

Unfortunately no, I'm not a huge fan of Polycom's and their provisioning manual is almost 700 pages. But a quick Google search returned this:

You can see if that parameter exists in the template for the 331 or do some additional googling to find the parameter.

Thank you, have that parameter already set, but that seems to be related to the "Voice" volume and not the ringer volume

I have already Googled my ass off and cant find anything, but will continue.

Also becoming "not" a fan of Polycom quickly

Just to give some feedback and take this post as resolved.

Found a parameter to set the ringing volume setting to non volatile memory which seems to have resolved the problem.
