I setup a system for a customer that has 5 digit extensions. They want to be able to dial 4 digits and it still work. Everything starts with a 1
For example
extension
12101
They want to be able to dial
2101 and it work. Is there a way to prepend a 1 to intercom calls like you can do with the outbound rules ?

I believe the SIP ID field under the extension and options may be what you're looking for. You would set each extensions SIP ID to the 4 digit version of their extension and they should be able to dial 4 digits. I would set up a test extension and try it.

@alwtech

Although using the SIP ID feature should theoretically work, it was not exactly designed for this use case as you are specifically talking about having it being used for all internal calls whereas SIP ID is designed to work as part of the Direct SIP functionality.

Ideally, the users would dial the full extension with whatever digit length the PBX was set up with. In order to determine if there is a more appropriate workaround, is there a specific reason you require this kind of configuration?

Client requirement.... I am going to just rebuild the system with 4 digit extensions. It will be better this way moving forward.

I have to agree on that one :)
