Hi,
this time I try to test the 3cx system for my home. Everything works great but not the outgoing calls from all voip phones.
My setup:
  • Raspberry Pi 3b+ with latest 3cx installed
  • Internal VOIP user configured in fritzbox 7490
  • Portforwarding for all needed ports (FW check is green)
  • Outgoing Rules set
  • Fritzbox trunk configured and green
  • Telekom as internet provider
  • Ports configued to 5062 /5092 (instead of 5060/5090)

In the dashboard I get this error while I try to make an outgoing call:
Call or Registration to XXXXXXXXX@(Ln.10000@Generic VoIP Provider) has failed. 0.0.0.0 replied: 408 Request Timeout; internal
I don't know why it logs 0.0.0.0, because my fritzbox is configured with 192.168.178.1 and setup right as Generic VoIP Provider. Incomming calls work without problems

I Know that the fritzbox is not a supported trunk provider, but for testing @home it would be perfekt!

Many thanks for any help,

Greetings,
Martin

I configured everything like mentioned in the docu, but only outgoing Calls do not work.

Internal VOIP user configured in fritzbox 7490
that's not possible to use this within 3CX, you need a real sip trunk and set it for normal use on 3CX or use fritzbox Voip service with fritzbox only.

The document you highlighted is for totally different hardware - these are ISDN gateway units that talk to 3CX

You have a router with voip account configured within the unit, and trying to get this to work with 3CX.

You need to disable to the Voip settings on the router and let 3CX control everything

Hi Martin,

I think since you are being rejected by the FritzBox with a 408 code, you need to check the manufacturers documentation to see what their requirements are. This might be a question that can be answered on the AVM forum.

Also wondering how you passed the firewall check with active numbers configured on the FritzBox, 5060 would be blocked. Have you changed your 3CX SIP Port?

I am successfully using 3cx on a windows machine behind a fritzbox 7490.
I think the title says it all.
You do not use the Fritzbox as the voip gateway, only as the connection to the internet.
You state that “my fritzbox is configured with 192.168.178.1 and setup right as Generic VoIP Provider.”

What you need to do is set up 3cx and not the fritz box to make the VOIP connection and, in effect, totally bypass the Fritzbox. Do not have the Fritzbox making the connection for the 3cx calls.

Set up your sip connections in 3cx using the generic provider settings.
You set up the fritz box with extensions of 3cx so calls go
Handset ->Fritzbox ->3cx ->VOIP provider

You can have non 3cx VOIP calls set up in the Fritzbox and have them go straight to the fritx fons, so long as they are different accounts.

I changed port 5060 to 5062 but left 5090 unchanged (like the guide).
In windows the installer sets the firewall rules to use 5060 even when you enter 5062 as the port to use and you need to manually change it.

Unfortunately this is not possible with some providers in germany. So you have to use the fritzbox as a "gateway voip server".
