Also, what videophones support VP8 right now? And why not VP9?

VP9 consumes ~40-50% more CPU than VP8 with no useful or noticeable advantages for mobile video calling. This is what our tests are showing.

But you can use both VP8 and Vp9 - it will work.
What we did for mdm? Well I dont know if it will work or not on all. But the one we tested on, required a different signature.
