Hi,

I have tried time and time again to get my android phone provisioned but it keeps giving me error. I have uninstalled a QR Code reader i previously installed with the hope that it might solve the problem but to no avail. My phone software are up to date. I have exhausted my know-how.

Please I need help on how to go about it.

Thanks

What QR code are you using? Remember that the QR code is actually a link so what address is in that link will matter.

First things you should consider is:

1. Where is the android client situated in regards to the PBX? Is it on the same LAN or remote?
2. What address does the QR code contain? Is it the Public IP, Local IP or FQDN? You can use a QR code scanner to determine this.
3. What will determine the address in the QR code is the location you are viewing it. If for instance you're trying to scan it from the welcome email, it must be the FQDN, it from the Management Console it will depend on how you accessed the Management Console. If you've accessed the MC via local ip, the QR code in the MC will have the local ip.

Try connecting the android device to a remote network/wifi or LTE connection and then use the QR code in the welcome email. Does that work?

If not, try simply opening the config file attached to the welcome email. It should automatically open using the 3CX Android App if you do this from the android device. Does the app provision successfully and work ok when you do this?

Thanks for your mail. I am yet to get home and when I do I will try other methods. But I have opened the config attachment sent to my email and it granted me access to the app features but it does not go online. I can't even see anyone when I check my status. And when I checked the admin area, it does not show my mobile as an active user and when I checked the phone menu, it does not show my phone user/extension. But again when I tried to access the web via the account I created, I was able to login via the web.

Thanks

Hello.
Thanks for your reply once again! I have been able to connect the phones and use them. I was able to do that because I had to connect my wifi to the phones. If I use the phones data, it will not connect until I switch to the wifi. I guess it's because I used the wifi IP address as the static IP address.

I wanted to do a little tweaking and so I went to the setting and network. I changes the IP to a local IP address though it still worked but still I had to use the wifi on the phones before they could connect. Why can't I use my own phones data cos I will not always be within the wifi range? I'm asking cos I tried the web aspect and it's not working! By not working I mean it cannot even open the page!

What do I have to do if I want to be able to access the PBX from a remote area using my mobile.

I will be glad to hear from you soonest!

What https port are you using? Is 5001, 443 or something else completely different? I'm asking because sometimes GSM Carriers may only allow common https/http ports and block the rest. I'll send you a PM with an address to try both from your wifi connection and data connection.

Let me know if you can connect to it from both or only one of the two.

Ok. I will let you know. Thanks
