Hi,

I've got a few questions about TAPI:
  1. Is an incoming call announced via TAPI to the TAPI client (aka CRM)?
  2. If yes to 1: is also announced if the call was accepted or missed?
  3. If yes to 2: what happens if the call is acceppted on the iOS app instead of the Windows app?
  4. What happens to TAPI in the future? AFAIK the Windows client is more or less EOL?
Thanks!

Hi @Sepultura,

TAPI works with the Windows client only, and provides only a partial list of features (it's not a full implementation of TAPI). This is what you can do with 3CX and TAPI:
- When an inbound call arrives to your extension, your TAPI client app receives a notification.
- You can start an outbound call from your TAPI client.
- You can drop an established call from your TAPI client.

Anything else is not supported.

If you're using the iOS app, you will not have TAPI integration.

The Windows Client will continue being supported, it's not EOL.

Thanks for your answer.

Does the TAPI client also get a notification if the inbound call was answered or missed?

Hi @Sepultura,
If you're using the iOS app, you will not have TAPI integration.

To clarify my question: we are using both: the Windows app and the iOS app. So both are ringing and the Windows app can notify the TAPI client. My question is related to the question above: if someone answers the call on the iPhone, does the Windows app notify the TAPI client that the call was answered?

No, only when the call starts ringing.

No, because the call answered event is not notified.

Thank you for your answers!

Another question: when using the web interface TAPI is not available. But at least it is possible to start calls from within the CRM by just opening a link like https://my3cx.url/webclient/#/call?phone=0123456789 ? But this opens a new window.

Is it possible to start the call in the already opened 3CX browser tab?

No, a new tab will be launched in that case.
