Quick Pit Stop with Release Candidate 4

Can someone check if you observe the same behavior?
The electron app isn't supported with v20. It may or may not work, but it's not supported/official.

Hey all,

The fax server is great, configured and tested.

But if a customer has multiple Fax DID numbers where each one has its own email address, how do i achieve this in V20?

the fax node is for FAX ATA and Fax Server only allows 1 Email (to 1 or more DIDs)

In V18, you could easily send Fax to Extension/email from Inbound rules, I cannot find any option anywhere to "send to Fax" option.

If this will not be included, what will happen to existing V18 that have Send to Fax configured in the Inbound rules when upgraded to V20?

Thanks

It is not yet available in v20.
They are working on it.
Don't know what happens if you upgrade your working v18.
I recommend you wait until they're done. It's still an RC.

Ive just installed V20 out for 20 users with a Yealink phone as a router and needed to manually put the MAC into each extension. The phones didn't 'arrive as new' on the same network asking they were new extensions. Is this expected behaviour?

20 users with a Yealink phone as a router
There's a limit of 10 phones per router phone...

The phones should show automatically in 3CX. Was the router phone "trunk" online?

Hello, i'm familiarizing with v20 but i prefer stay on v18 yet. I update two hosted install and i notice a thing, TLS suppor option is gone, i searched in all screens but not found the option to upload the certificate.

My Calls isn't encrypted, i did a compare with Wireshark and i got this:

v18

v20:

This 5 TLS connections is between my phone and 3CX.

I really appreciated if this option be available again.

@william dy No TLS support is not gone, it is because you are using a generic/unsupported provider and you need to upload the certificate to the certificate directory. We will provide more information how to do this.

Hi Nick,

I couldn't find this in the road map or find it mentioned, and was wondering if implementing a department with a system extension has been discussed or planned.

I have no idea how hard it would be on a dev level, but on a functionality level it would significantly enhance the time of day functionality by using what is already there.

A few example to explain what I mean.
  1. Forwarding Calls to Departments: This would allow user to forward direct calls to the department directly from their forwarding area. But they could also then Transfer calls to the group pas in well.
  2. IVR Routing to Departments: there is often a use case for a company to have an IVR answer the calls. Then say Option 2 could be Support calls but based on time of day it would route to different locations. So that same option 2 could then route to one queue and then other times of the day route to a different queue. Makes much more sense to be able to route directly to a department to use the time based routing here instead of doing other complicated methods.

This is the only challenge I've encountered where our previous V16-V18 workarounds haven't been resolved by utilising departments.

A department is a container for system extensions and users. And departments replace groups. So I cant really understand what you are trying to do when you say route to a group or department. You can route to an IVR or a Queue or a Ring Group. We have a department menu which is like a mini ring group but it has limited use. It was created for the free edition but now the free edition on SMB has full IVR included free of charge.

You can have an IVR in a department that inherits the time of the department and then route accordingly.

If you want to route in a complex way based on the time received you can write a small script and do whatever you want. See this doc about creating call processing scripts.

Maybe there is another routing option or way I'm missing. Maybe someone else has a better method. But this is from an existing Avaya solution, so trying to mirror the same call flow.

During office hours, all calls go to a DAY IVR. Then at night to NIGHT IVR.

During the Day, option 1 for sales, depending on the time of day, this same option 1, routes to one of 3 different queues. Each queue has different members and rules.

So the call goes to a department with time of day to the IVR. Then if the Departments had extensions I can then route the Option one to a Department.
As now, it goes Time profile to IVR to time profile for each department.

I could do this with CFD, but they do change the time of day values often based on shifts. This would then mean It's over there head to change.
