We recently upgraded from v14 to the latest v15.5 finally.
We run a call center that records all phone calls of all our agents.
I have noticed that the file size for those recordings has drastically increased.
In only three days time, we are already at 12GB of recording storage.
We used to keep 3-4 months of recordings in about the same amount of space?

Why has the file size grown so exponentially?
Is there any way to get them reduced back down to reality?

Chris, that's curious since 3CX made changes to recordings to help reduce the size of the wav files, rather than increase the size. There is no setting for adjusting the recording size. However, if storage starts to become an issue, you can look at our 3CX Recording Manager add-on which on average compresses the recordings to between 1/2 to 1/4 of the original size without obvious loss of audio. It is a helpful tool for archiving recordings, and it does much more.

I can't use your tools, but thank you.
We are running the linux Google Cloud hosted version of 3CX.
I noticed your tool is for Windows only.

Hello @CCAdmin

Please note that in older version the audio format for the recordings was PCM. In order to reduce the size we switch the format to ADPCM, however because of numerous complaints that ADPCM was not able to be played natively to some emails e.g gmail we switch it back to PCM.
