Hello,

We are experiencing a critical issue with several Yealink T53 and T54W phones configured in router phone mode (SBC).

The phones randomly freeze, both during calls and in standby mode.

During a call:
The device freezes completely.
The screen still displays the ongoing call.
The user can no longer hear the audio.
It is impossible to hang up.

The only way to get the phone working again is to unplug and replug it, which is becoming frustrating for our users.

On the 3CX side, the phone may appear unresponsive during the malfunction.

This problem has persisted for some time. A firmware update provided by Yealink has been applied, but the problem remains.

Have you ever encountered complete freezes on T53/T54W phones configured in router phone mode?

3CX Version: Version 20.0 Update 8 (Build 1109 Release)

Yealink Firmware: 96.87.0.16

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

@N-AGPRO since the devices freeze, then the logs of the phones must be checked in order to identify the real source of the cause. This is something that mainly the support team of Yealink has expertize to do. I would recommend contacting them directly.

As Yealink informed us, when the phonebooks are extremely large the phones can sometimes experience this issue.

Newer firmware has been released and is also available on 3CX now (v96.87.0.22) which solves this issue according to the manufacturer.
