We have a customer that wants redundant SIP paths between 3CX and two Cisco Call Manager IP addresses, one primary and one secondary. Can 3CX do this?

Can you give more detailed request?

I guess my first question is: "Can a 3CX system work with a Cisco Call Manager System". Imagine that Business has two buildings one old building that uses a "Cisco Call Manager" and a second building that uses a 3CX and we want to connect the phone systems together and then set up extensions between the two. Is it possible to connect the two systems and what would we use as the bridge between the two? a simple Ethernet with Sip or a T1->Gateway->3CX?

Hi there,

This is not a supported setup. And you can encounter many problems. Having said that you can take a look at this forum post below, but you would be far easier to have 2 bridged 3CX PBX's.

What hardware between the two would you recommend? Just Ethernet?

3CX PBX supports any type of connection:
1. Ethernet. 3CX is user. Cisco call manager is Voip provider
2. Ethernet. 3CX is VoIP provider. Cisco is user.
3. Ethernet. SIP trunk. It is the same as 1. and 2. but without SIP registration procedure
4. wire + gateways. The wire and SIP gateway is mandatory on 3CX PBX side because we provide ONLY SIP interface.

Independently of connection type, the problem is to configure CCM and 3CX PBX to understand each other. It is expected that it will be easy on 3CX PBX side.
