Hello,

We sync our Caller ID from Office 365. This telephone number is also used for Email signatures. Our trunk provider requires the CID to have no spaces. However it would be easier to read on the signature if there were spaces.

Is there a way on 3CX in the trunk settings to remove the spaces before sending it over the trunk. I have read some articles but I can't determine how spaces can be manipulated (if they can be!).

Thank You.

Hello @FN-GM

First you need to know that reformatting only affects the value “OriginatorCallerID” in the outbound parameters of the trunk so some changes may be necessary there and if your provider does not support the sending of the Originator caller ID (for forwarded calls mostly) then calls might fail so only change those if you know what you are doing.
Now to remove spaces you need to apply something like this:
Assuming that my caller ID is 1 777 88 99 222 i need to apply the following patterns.

What this does is splits the number into smaller chunks (a space is a singe character) and then you tell the PBX which of the chunks you want to keep.

Thank you. I think I have understood and I will give this a shot.

I think it should be something like the below. This is a quick look at 11pm when I am pretty tired!

Example number with spaces: 08 1234 5678

Source pattern : (..)(.)(....)(.)(....)
Replace pattern: \1\3\5

Thanks again. :)
