Renaming SIP entry for Router Phones

I don't think this is exclusive to Yealink phones but there has been a lot of activity here regarding the switch to SBC setups now with added functionality of the T53 and higher models. I've been converting my remote workers from STUN setups to SBC now that Router Phones are supported. All of these SBCs show up in the SIP Trunk list but are only identified by phone model and extension. Is there any way to rename these to make it easier to document User or Location?

Hi Justin,

Unfortunately no - these are generated automatically and linked to the extension.

There are a few things that rely on this so it won't be possible to rename them.

Is it a hard restriction or something worth posting in Ideas? Being able to choose a custom name when initially adding the router phone would be huge, even if it can't be renamed thereafter.

At the moment yes, it is a hard restriction based on the way router phones are provisioned (it differs quite a bit under the hood).

Might be worth adding in ideas though if you want to define it during creation.
