Reporting 2.0 - The Reporting Roadmap at 3CX

This all looks fantastic and the potential for customisable views/options is great to see.

Do I need to have the enterprise license to use Grafana and PowerBi as I currently have the Pro license.

I have 2 instances one on Premise for Hospitality and the other hosted by a 3cx partner for Retail will Grafana/PowerBi work with both versions?

@RTOadmin - no the current reporting remains available. Your historical data will be converted to the new format. You would have to purge at some regular yearly interval to keep the database mangeable. If you go for our Grafana/ PowerBI option this is done automatically because you can purge and export to the Grafana or other platform.
@Chrisj Thank you for the nice feedback. Yes you would need the enterprise edition but you can wait if you like and see the reports before you upgrade. its likely that we will make the feature available to all during beta and RC stage so you can check it out.

@N_G - To hear this will only be available for the enterprise edition is extremely disappointing. Considering all of the heavy lifting would be done by the external platforms, what justifies the need to have an enterprise license?

As mentioned in my previous message, the reporting situation in v18 for the most part covered all the bases, in a presentable format and with an individual schedule that can be fully admin controlled - but now in v20 we only get a single time of day reports can be sent out, csv only, and have to be logged in as the user that will receive them.

As much as I really do think 'Reporting 2.0' looks great, Forcing people to upgrade to the next license level, just to get back features we had in the previous version is not the way forward.

With this new integration with grafana, will you introduce different authentication like access tokens?
Right now in v18 I made a grafana dashboard to monitor the "real time" status of our pbx's, like pbx online/offline, sbc and trunk up/down, backup status, ext status and so on.
The only drawback is that the extension I use to login to the pbx and fetch the data shows up in the activity log every time the script runs and clutters the activity log.
So, before rewriting the script to pull the data with the new api I was wondering if these new implementations will provide a different authentication method other than logging with a user and retrieving the session cookie

WOW! Reporting 2.0 sounds AMAZING!
can't wait to see it action when it comes out as a first beta!

Just checking, the Grafana dashboards will be direct access to the calllog, so meaning we could create custom wallboards
with accuratie live SLA info?

The PowerBi reports are generally slower in their updates times and will be best for use of historical reporting

No its not really meant for live dashboards its meant for historical reporting

Hello, Queue Answered Calls By Waiting Time is not working, please help. It hangs for a long time and does not output any records.

Maybe you have a lot of data? Anyway best thing is to wait for the update which hopefully will be available in January/February

Just found out that under integrations -> API you can create API tokens. Awesome!
I'll test this out.
From what I read the new Grafana/PowerBI integrations will be used to have a reporting of historic data.

In v18 I made a dashboard to have a quick glance of the status of our instances and send out alerts for pbxs or trunks down, failed backups, suspicious internetional calls and pretty much what we thought could possibly hinder the pbx functionality
Here's a part of it (sorry it's in italian but I think it's self explanatory).
Will some of these be a part of the new integration, or do you think I can I go ahead and rewrite the script for v20?

edit: just read you need an entreprise license for using the API :(

I doubt it but I'm hoping that you're mistaken. Where did you find that?

Yes you do need an enterprise license to use the rest api

Thank you for that info. Does that apply to the config API or just the call control API? Also, will Enterprise be required to use the Grafana reporting that has been discussed recently?

Config API will not require ent but call API and grafana and advanced reporting yes.... We will make a blog post about all the features soon

thanks N_G,

I'm a little confused, so Configuration API will be available in pro license as well, correct?

I'm asking because under Integrations -> API the title says "Service Principals (Available in Enterprise only)"
and creating a client id the configuration API link url points to https://www.3cx.com/docs/configuration-rest-api/ which states: Please note: You must have a 3CX Enterprise license to use 3CX Configuration API.

But as far as I know he don't need this section for config API access.
