Reporting VOIP/PBX hacking attempts

Just curious, does anyone else take the time to report abusing IP addresses or is it just a waste of time?

I did report a few, a long time back, when they originated from countries that you'd think might actually do something about it. I don't recall getting any sort of acknowledged so I pretty much gave up on that and now just blacklist IP's or IP ranges.
