Solved Reset Web Admin Password From CLI

Hello All,

For some reason the password I setup for the web admin is not working, not sure if I made a typo in it or something. The password for the root user for the server console is working though (both passwords I thought i had typed in the same), is there a way to reset the admin user password from the console?

Hello @TagleRock

If you have a backup available then you can search on how to find the password from the backup. If not then you need to to contact a reseller or open a ticket with our support department so they can assist with finding the password.

I ended up just setting up a fresh image and joining the phones to that server. I would have continued trying to figure out, I was running a recursive grep for what I knew had to be in the password and just going through every single file in the system (I'm sure it has to be in there somewhere), but our numbers had ported already and we were hard down on our phones, didn't take to long, but now i know the first thing i will do with any future 3CX deployments is take a backup so I can have a copy of the password. Thank you.
