Restrict outbound calls

Hi all,
I searched in the forum to find how to solve this problem, but solutions apply to a very limited bunch of numbers.

I try to explain.

I have a 3cx installation with more than 150 extensions and more or less 400/500 allowed numbers in the phonebook.

I have to split extensions in 2 groups, one that is allowed do call everyone, one that is allowed to call only the numbers in the phonebook. How can i achieve this?
I read about the oubound rules, but that solution is very hard to maintain.

How can I solve this problem? Does eventually CFD can help?

Hi Marco,

Outbound calls are controlled only by the outbound rules, not the phonebook.

Put simply, what you see is what you get, there is no phonebook matching field:



So when an extension makes an attempt to call, the system will evaluate the above rules, and if the rules match, then the call can be made. If not, then the system will move to the next rule down the list. And eventually, if none match the call attempt is denied.

You could write a service that monitors all outbound call requests and compare the requested number to a list of allowed numbers. If the dialed number is not in the list, the service can drop the call. That's what our 3CX Do Not Call tool does. It has a whitelist and a blacklist.

Yep, that was clear, but having 400+ outbound rules is not no simple to maintain. I was asking if there was a trick that can make me do something like:

"Calls from extension group" AND "Calls to Numbers in list". I know that there is no "Calls to Numbers in list" but i was asking if there is the possibility to do something that is similar to this option.
