Hi

I have a little problem I don't succeed to fix with 3CX. All my dialing numbers are stored in the universal format +countrycodelocalnumber but my DID provider only accepts number like that: countrycodelocalnumber. I tried to write a rule in my outgoung trunk so 3CX can automatically remove the + if present before dialing (I used the documentation for that but I think I'm missing something:
Source: +(.*)
Replacement: \1
If I dial a number with + call is rejected by trunk as it's even missing the country code but it's not the goal of my rule.

Thanks for your help,

Vincèn

The rules you added to resolve this I think are the Caller ID reformatting rules which are not what you would need. What you need is to process the Called To number(dialed number) which has nothing to do with the Caller ID.

This can be done in the Outbound Rules by utilizing the Strip and Prepend fields. Simply access the Management Console, navigate to Outbound Rules and edit the Outbound rule(s) used for outgoing calls to numbers that start with the + sign. Have it strip 1 digit/character and then prepend anything else if needed.

You might also want to consider going over our training material regarding Outbound Routing: https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/videos/advanced/configuring-outbound-routing/

Oups I better understand now why it was not working :)

oki so I have putted 1 in field Remove of the outgoing trunk in Outbound rules but then if I dial my number +4179257.... it sends at trunk 79257... stripping the + and country code which is not what I want. It doesn't consider the + like a character ?

thanks for link, have quite a few docs to read to be more efficient with 3Cx but first hand on it without reading much documentations I find it pretty easy and straightforward to setup and use

It should consider the + sign as well. You might want to go to Settings and check if E164 processing is enabled. If it is, disable it completely and then try again.

Ah yep thanks it works now this way ;) I would have just hoped a more "intelligent" way to do that and be able to tell him to remove leading characters only if it's a "+" :D
