Unsupported Rightfax

I've been looking for documentation on what I need to do to set up Rightfax to work with 3cx, and have been unable to find any thus far - does anyone have any resource to share that can help me here?

I've set up a number of fax routing points, but 3cx requires authentication for rightfax to use them, and I'm not finding any place to do that in Rightfax manager. I'm totally open to the idea that this is the wrong way to go about it.

What is Rightfax and why not use the built-in FAX server of 3CX? Or do you need to send? If so, ATAs are usually the way to go.

If it's SIP, note that "fax extensions" are locked from STUN registration, so a remote service using SIP could not register on them.

RightFax is an enterprise fax server - I'm servicing a school district.
As suggested, it is a service that uses SIP - I've tried setting up a bridge for it, but again run into the issue of not being able to authenticate properly. RightFax seems to not have any means for some sort of meaningful permanent linkage - seems like it just wants to be able to barrel through without any sort of handshaking most of the time. It does have options for authenticating to a registrar server, but I haven't had any success trying that.

I would strongly suggest you register it to a dedicated trunk from your provider. Those kind of platforms are usually very hard if not impossible to get to work with 3CX (I speak from experience.)

So, it would seem that it was working a little more successfully (actually tries to make a call) if I set a phone extension for it and had it use that for outgoing calls, using the 3cx server as a proxy and point of record.

It's quitting time for me today, so I won't be able to test inbound calling yet, but I suspect it will require setting up some extensions for the other routes, and the fax server should just grab them like virtual SIP phones.

Not recommending RightFax (I've admined a setup that had 40,000 users) or anything else. However, this very old guide MIGHT help you in the setup or you may choose something that's less of a pig to deal with.
