Please forgive me if not posted in correct location. I am having an issue with one of my Ring Groups which is set to Prioritized Hunt. Calls are routed properly, but the first extention dialed will only ring for a brief moment (not even an entire ring) before it is forwarded. Ring time is set to 20 seconds. Issue does not happen when the extention is dialed directly. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
J

check the ring time configured for that phone in its extension settings, perhaps it is set very low there. Also check the physical phone for a forwarding or ring time option as some voip phones have this in their firmware on the actual physical device. A user could have played with the settings on the phone itself, a factory reset would disprove or eliminate this as a possibility.

Hi J,

Will this still occur if you change which extension rings first?

...and check the 3CX Activity Log to see if there is some indication as to why the set stops ringing.

Thanks for the quick response!

Brentt - Checked ring time on extension - 30 seconds. Physical phone forwarding settings are all disabled. Factory reset phone - no change in behavior

John - Issue remains with said phone when Hunt order is changed. There are only 2 phones in this group, and when I made the other extension the first priority, it rings as intended, and when the call is forwarded to the other extension (one with issue), it half rings and is sent to voicemail.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
A direct call from extension to extension rings as expected or not on the suspicious phone?
Can you try to call RG 803 from an extension to see if you have same RG behaviour from internally calls?
is the RG working fine as set in 3cx?

If internal tests calls are working properly then problem is may be on trunk side

Sounds like the phone is dropping the call J.

Unplug the user's phone and log them into the webclient or desktop client. Lets see if the device is the culprit
