Ring to caller during ring group?

Hello All,

3CX semi-noob here - have a digital receptionist answering inbound calls. If a caller presses #2, calls are sent to a ring group that rings for 10 sec before going to voicemail. Is there a way to play the sound of a phone ringing while the ring group is doing it's thing? Would that be set in Settings -> Music on Hold?

weird... mine is silent until the extension picks up, or times out and rolls to voicemail.

Not sure why, I have both Self hosted as well as 3cx hosted and both work the same way

You should be hearing music-on-hold when someone selects a choice from the IVR. The music plays while the ring group members are ringing, until someone answers or until the call reaches the destination if no answer.

Better check this from scratch by making a basic digital receptionist and ring group, leaving everything default:

1. make a new ring group and add some secondary extension to it that is available to take calls now
2. then make a new digital receptionist and give it option 1 to reach the new ring group
3. now call the digital receptionist from your own extension using its extension number
4. watch the other extension ring, it should start ringing now
5. while it is ringing, you should be hearing music on hold
6. answer it and confirm you actually do have 2-way audio

Are you sure you were using a Ring Group?
Because if you were using a Queue instead, the queue does not have any sound by default. You need to add it yourself!
