rtp+1 vs. rtcp-mux [?]

I can't find any info to use as a reference point to choose one over the other.

I'm not asking which one is "better", but rather key differences and what is the criteria used to make an informed decision.

It's a setting in SIP trunk provider. I'd like to know which of them is more "3cx-friendly" and gain some understanding while I'm at it.

So RTCP is just for reporting RTP statistics so technically any setting would have been fine for 3CX prior to v16 since there was no RTCP support so it would have been ignored. In v16 RTCP support was added but there is no info on it other than it's there and they plan on building some reporting for it. So I wouldn't worry about it for now and then when RTCP reports become available you can play with the settings to see if there is any change. Perhaps someone from 3CX can give you are more specific answer.
