SBC is up, but phones wont connect to our 3CX. I can see them in the phones, but they wont allow us to assign to a user. Fanvil phone acts like it is rebooting after a auto provision, but quickly comes back up as factory reset phone.

Same with a Yealink phone. We can see them both as new phones, but cannot assign them. We were good until we moved our windows domain controller to the other side of the VPN. Not sure if that would matter because the server wasn't playing a role with 3CX.

Thanks,

Chaz

I figured it out. When we moved the server, The IT Folks thought it would be best to let the server handle all the DNS. I statically assigned the phone so that it would not use the 2008 server for DNS, and it came right up. Traditionally, we let our firewalls use google for the DNS.

Yes, and pointed to the IP of the SBC.

You do no port forwarding on the firewall protecting the sbc server, remove all settings on the firewall as no firewall settings are required except allow tcp/udp port 5090 and tcp 5001 outbound

You need to have port 5001 port forwarding on the firewall protecting the 3cx server

Port 5001 is used to provision the phones
