Hello.

I need SBC support with more than 100 phones (T19P-E2 yealink) on the remote site.

What hardware do I need to support this amount of phones? Will I need more than one SBC?

Tnaks.

If I put better quality hardware would I be able to increase the number of phones?

Would you like to better understand this limitation of 50 phones if it is software or hardware? The documentation is not very specific.

I have a project with 400 remote phones and I would like to justify this to my customer the need for so many SBC on the LAN, because he does not see the need to do VPN at the moment.

If he doesn't see the need it's because you haven't done your job explaining it to your customer.. The 3CX requirements are very specific. You need multiple SBCs or a VPN. At the current ratio I think a VPN makes more sense than 8 SBCs.

As far as the limitations go, you simply need to do your own testing. Every site is different so you need to find out what works for you.

VPN it, you can spin up a remote system with a software firewall (ours use PfSense) and connect directly into the infrastructure onsite, this gives you not only more capacity but better coverage of the estate.

Just ensure the VPN tunnel is up and stable before moving forward.

Or you could get serious about it and put in an EdgeWater 2900E and support your customer like you should be doing. It supports (300) concurrent calls and does packet captures when connected to the management portal. Setup a PPTP connection and remote into the phones when needed, you'll never have to leave the office again.
