I know its not anything I did, I use a password manager to log in. I'm confused why this would happen. I'm on DI so I can reset the root password. How can I reset my user password?

What is the error message? It may not be your password not working but rather a misconfigured device at the same IP getting you blacklisted.

Hello @seantp

Are you getting blacklisted by the management console? If so then as mentioned a device might be trying to authenticate to the PBX from your Public IP resulting to you getting blacklisted. You cannot reset your password but the PBX will give you the option to send you your current password after 2 failed attempts to login.

Yes it was blacklisted. I forgot I had just updated the passwords by 3cx's own prompts. I had assumed it would provision the phone with the updated password. Apparently not.

Glad you figured it out. It is best practice to whitelist your IPs so you don't lock yourself out. I'm curious how you updated the password (and why you thought it would magically update the phone). If you used the 'Regenerate' button and it's a supported phone then 3CX should have triggered a reprovision automatically. But if you manually changed the password on the phone then it's up to you to then hit the re-provision button. Otherwise the phone will only check for configuration changes at a certain interval (depending on the phone and how it was configured) and then, noticing the config change, download the new config. However, in the meantime if the phone blacklisted itself before checking for an updated config you are SOL.

After the last update 3CX was complaining that the passwords it had previously generated were not strong enough. So I used the 'regenerate' button and assumed that my Remote connected Yealink phones would get auto provisioned with the new details. Previous changes like this had worked. I had also previously whitelisted my IP but forgot to update it when the cable company replaced my modem.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved. As above i would recommend whitelisting your new IP to avoid this from happening again.
